Hamlet and his Abrupt Madness: An Analysis (End of the analysis)

Lastly, as we analyze Hamlet’s madness, it comes to reason that we must look over what ultimately occurred from Hamlet’s actions. Unfortunately, many things occur due to Hamlet and his supposed ruse of madness. Ophelia, who was meant to marry Hamlet, falls into her own means of madness due to Hamlet and his actions towards her. This is only one of many consequences, however, that were caused by Hamlet. Near the end of the play, the consequences to Hamlet and his actions come to an abrupt end as Hamlet himself ends up dead due to his ruse of madness. This raises the questions on whether or not Hamlet were truly mad or not. In some cases it can be seen that maybe Hamlet were not truly mad and was using his own intelligence to get the answers to his questions when it came to his father’s death. However, the idea of acting mad in order to get these answers makes one question why he would make such ridiculous decisions to be insane in order to get these answers to his questions.

His ruse of madness, whether it were truly a ruse or not, led to his death and many others and these consequences will never be undone. Unfortunately, as I had mentioned earlier, his madness may have led to his death but it also led to the insanity of others and ultimately Hamlet going insane caused a spiraling case of many more cases of insanity and even deaths along the way as he tried to find the answers to his fathers death.

Beginning of chapter 2 from my novel Elemental Magic: Shadows and Carnage

The morning came early due to the sound of screaming coming from the farm animals. I groaned loudly and slid out of bed and headed outside to the screaming cock that was pacing back and forth in front of her empty food pail.

“Daisy, you’re being ridiculous!” I groaned, climbing up onto the wooden fence that made her cage. Daisy, a creature with gray feathers covering her husky, muscular body and standing at seven feet tall, glared at me with her intense brown eyes.

“Moo!” She screamed, breathing hot breath into my face. She held her head up high, the rising sun shining onto her horns that jutted out of the corners of her head and curled.

“Yeah, yeah. I hear you. I’ll go get your food.” I sighed, acknowledging that this was going to be a losing battle. I trudged off towards the shed next to her fence and went inside, grabbing her food that we kept in a massive bin. Cocks eat anything you give them, from grains to random scraps. They’re fine with anything as long as they get food. My mom used to be fine with whatever I could feed her, but she had suddenly begun to insist that I feed Daisy only grains since it made her milk taste better. The creatures were bizarre in looks but were popular amongst farmlands since they produced milk from these massive nipples that rested below their stomachs.

The second I dumped the grain into her pail, Daisy shoved her face into the food and ate loudly. I shook my head, and walked up beside her and patted her rump.

“You’re too cute to hate, but you are damn near frustrating.” I sighed. Daisy looked over at me and grunted before going back to her very important meeting with her food. I moved over to the fence and slumped down to the ground, making sure to not be too close to the Cocks pail while she ate aggressively.

“Can I talk to you? When you’re done?” I whispered. Daisy made a grunt in between bites in response and continued to eat. After five minutes or crunching and munching, Daisy made a satisfied sound and walked over to me. She carefully walked over and placed her hooved legs next to my own legs and laid down, resting her massive head into my lap. I patted her feathery head and immediately hugged her tightly, embracing the soft feathers and letting them tickle my face.

“Aquafina attacked me yesterday and when I didn’t give her what she wanted, she accused me of raping her.” I whispered. Daisy made a sharp squeal and lifted her head up, staring at me intensely. “Right? I couldn’t believe she did it either. She was so nice when we were dating, I can’t believe she was actually disgusting in character.” I groaned. Daisy huffed hot breath and laid her head back down on my lap. I laid my head on her head and we sat in silence.
